## Abstract

This J.P. Morgan report details the QPADL architecture, a distributed ledger solution designed to meet the requirements of regulated financial institutions in a post-quantum landscape. The paper proposes a framework where auditability and privacy coexist through a combination of quantum-resistant zero-knowledge proofs and permissioned consensus protocols. The architecture is modular, allowing for the substitution of cryptographic modules as new standards in PQC emerge. The methodology focuses on enterprise-grade performance, addressing the throughput limitations often associated with quantum-safe signatures in high-frequency financial environments. The report provides case studies on how such ledgers could function within existing regulatory structures, maintaining compliance while protecting sensitive financial data from future quantum decryption threats.

## Key findings

* Modular cryptography is essential for enterprise-grade financial ledgers.
* Auditability and privacy can be effectively balanced using quantum-safe zero-knowledge proofs.
* Permissioned networks allow for performance optimizations not feasible in public chains.
* Standardization of PQC is critical for institutional adoption.
