Abstract

This paper performs a meta-review—a ‘review of reviews’—to synthesize the state of blockchain research in supply chain management (SCM). By examining a vast corpus of existing secondary literature, the authors identify the primary research trajectories and highlight overlooked areas, such as the social impact of supply chain digitalization. The research agenda proposed suggests a shift toward multi-disciplinary studies that incorporate behavioral science, environmental economics, and advanced cryptography. The paper maps the evolution of blockchain SCM research from its initial hype-driven phase to a more mature, critical era. Its primary contribution is the development of a comprehensive research roadmap, which identifies technical, social, and managerial themes that require further empirical exploration.
