Abstract

This paper examines the potential applications of blockchain technology within the human resources (HR) domain, focusing on the verification of credentials, identity management, and payroll. The authors address the administrative burden of verifying academic and professional certifications, suggesting that a blockchain-based registry could allow individuals to maintain a ‘digital vault’ of their verified credentials that can be instantly checked by potential employers. This would reduce fraud, speed up hiring, and provide employees with true ownership of their career history. The paper further explores the use of smart contracts to automate payroll processing and complex compensation schemes, reducing errors and administrative overhead. It also discusses the implications for employee identity management, emphasizing how decentralized solutions can enhance data privacy and security. The research suggests that blockchain will fundamentally change the relationship between employers, employees, and recruitment agencies by fostering a more transparent, efficient, and verifiable professional ecosystem.
