Abstract

This paper investigates the role of blockchain technology as a foundational infrastructure for enhancing AI transparency, auditability, and accountability. The authors identify the core issue of ‘black box’ AI models, where decisions are often non-deterministic or opaque to end users. By utilizing blockchain’s immutable ledger, the researchers propose a framework for logging AI model training data, hyperparameters, and decision outputs. The study provides a architectural model where verifiable logs ensure that AI agents adhere to pre-defined constraints. The methodology involves a comparative analysis of decentralized storage systems and cryptographic hashing techniques to ensure data integrity during the AI lifecycle. The results suggest that while blockchain integration introduces latency issues, it significantly improves the trust-index of AI applications in sensitive sectors like governance and healthcare.
