Abstract

This paper investigates the convergence of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence (AI) within the context of military operations and the Internet of Things (IoT), often referred to as the Battlefield of Things. It analyzes how AI can be utilized to process vast amounts of data generated by connected military assets, while blockchain provides the necessary secure, immutable audit trail for that data. The paper discusses the potential for autonomous decision-making systems to be governed by smart contracts to ensure compliance with international law and operational mandates. It highlights the vulnerability of centralized systems to cyber warfare and posits that decentralized architectures offer superior resilience. The study examines how this dual-technology stack can enhance mission-critical data integrity, authentication of hardware, and secure command-and-control structures in complex, high-stakes environments.
