This comprehensive review analyzes the symbiotic relationship between blockchain technology and the evolution of the Internet. The paper examines the history of the Internet's centralized growth and positions blockchain as a corrective measure to address privacy, security, and data ownership concerns. The authors categorize applications across identity management, domain naming systems, and decentralized web storage, illustrating how cryptographically secured ledgers empower users to reclaim ownership of their digital footprint.
