Abstract

This paper explores the transformative potential of integrating blockchain and AI within the financial sector, focusing on enhancing security and operational transparency. The authors argue that while blockchain provides the necessary tamper-proof foundation for financial transactions, AI is essential for real-time monitoring, threat detection, and fraud prevention. The research methodology includes a detailed case study analysis of current fintech applications that utilize blockchain for ledger integrity and AI for predictive analytics in risk assessment. A primary finding is that the combination allows for ‘trustless’ financial systems that do not require intermediaries while maintaining higher security standards than traditional banking. The paper addresses technical challenges such as data interoperability, regulatory compliance, and the need for standardized protocols in banking. The study concludes that the synergy between these technologies will likely lead to a new paradigm of decentralized finance (DeFi) that is inherently safer and more efficient.
