Abstract

This paper provides a bibliometric-content analysis of the integration of AI and blockchain in business, mapping the evolution of research and industrial interest from 2017 to 2022. By analyzing thousands of academic papers and industry reports, the author identifies key thematic trends: the transition from theory to pilot projects, the focus on supply chain transparency, the role of decentralized finance (DeFi), and the growing interest in data marketplaces. The paper tracks how businesses are moving from using blockchain merely for payments to utilizing it as a foundational layer for AI-driven business intelligence. The findings indicate that the most significant growth in the field is occurring in sectors that require high levels of trust and complex documentation. The study emphasizes the shift toward ‘Trustworthy AI’ and illustrates how businesses are adopting these technologies to achieve operational efficiency, auditability, and new value-creation models in an increasingly digital, globalized marketplace.
