Abstract

The Aragon whitepaper, published in 2017, introduces a framework for creating and managing decentralized organizations (DAOs) on the Ethereum blockchain. It posits that existing organizational structures are often inefficient, opaque, and susceptible to censorship, and proposes Aragon as a solution to empower communities with self-governance and transparent operations. The core of Aragon is a set of smart contracts that enable the creation of autonomous entities with their own rules, tokens, and decision-making processes. It aims to provide tools for managing membership, voting, and treasury allocation in a decentralized manner, thereby facilitating new forms of collective action and resource management.
