This preprint proposes a comprehensive classification system for the diverse array of RWA tokenization projects currently occupying the blockchain space. The authors argue that a lack of standardized terminology hinders regulatory progress and technical interoperability. The taxonomy is divided into distinct categories based on asset class, technical implementation, regulatory compliance level, and issuer profile. By categorizing assets such as fixed income, real estate, and commodities against their underlying tokenization architecture, the paper highlights how different structures affect investor protections and liquidity.
